India counters China, assigns official names to 27 Arunachal site

Arunachal Pradesh is an Indian state and an important part of India’s northeastern and eastern Himalayan region.The issue has gained renewed attention following repeated attempts by China to assign alternative names to locations in Arunachal Pradesh. China has announced several such naming exercises, including a list covering 27 locations and geographical features. India has rejected these exercises and maintained that unilateral renaming cannot alter its position regarding Arunachal Pradesh.India has now formally identified 27 places and features by their standard names on the Survey of India map of Arunachal Pradesh. The stated objective is to facilitate accurate recognition and improve public awareness.The concern is that inconsistent geographical naming across maps, digital platforms, educational resources and public information can create confusion, particularly among younger citizens and people unfamiliar with the region.This petition seeks stronger public awareness, consistent use of officially recognised Indian geographical names and accurate access to authoritative information about Arunachal Pradesh.
